i.HOC – Ultra efficient compressed air drying

The patented i.HOC rotary drum dryer from Kaeser uses up to 100 % of the compressor's heat. Thanks to full-flow regeneration, it delivers reliable pressure dew points up to an ambient temperature of 115 °F – without electrical heating or additional cooling of the regeneration air.

Dryer technology options

Integrated refrigerated dryer (CSG series)

Even for oil-free rotary screw compressors, refrigerated dryers are the cost-effective choice for delivering the best possible energy efficiency when requiring pressure dew points to 38 °F. Pressure dew points below 38 °F require desiccant dryers.

Integrated i.HOC drum dryer

The optional i.HOC integrated drum dryer reliably and efficiently achieves pressure dew points as low as -22 °F. The hot compressed air from the second compression stage is used to regenerate the desiccant.

i.HOC superior full-flow regeneration
i.HOC with KAESER full-flow regeneration
 Full-flow regeneration  Partial-flow regeneration
 Regeneration area: Hot air removes moisture from the desiccant.
 Drying area: Moisture is drawn into the desiccant from the cold air.

The i.HOC (Integrated Heat of Compression Dryer) system uses 100 % of the heat of compression from the second compression stage for drying purposes (full-flow regeneration). This heat is produced and available for use at zero cost.

  • No additional energy input for the drying process
  • Higher regeneration potential than with partial-flow regeneration dryers
  • Full performance, even with low compressor load

The advantages of full-flow regeneration are clear—especially with increased coolant temperatures. Kaeser drum dryers achieve outstanding drying results even without additional heating of the regeneration air.

Integrated refrigerated dryer (CSG models)

Energy-saving drying

The integrated design and the generously-sized aluminum block heat exchanger keep pressure losses less than 1.5 psi. The energy-saving scroll refrigeration compressor helps achieve additional compressed air energy savings.

Excellent accessibility

All refrigeration dryer components are perfectly accessible via the service door on the front of the unit, making dryer service work a breeze.
