Kaeser's 10 HP rotary screw air compressor lineup gives small- to mid-sized industrial operations a proven path to reliable, continuous compressed air without the operating costs of piston-style alternatives. The SM series delivers up to 45.1 CFM at 125 psig, and with configurations spanning standard fixed-speed, variable speed drive, integrated dryer, and complete AIRCENTER packages, there is a 10 HP air compressor setup purpose-built for nearly every facility footprint. Every unit runs on the energy-saving SIGMA PROFILE airend, putting efficiency and diagnostic precision at the core of every system.

Kaeser's 10 HP Screw Compressor Models

Standard 10 HP Air Compressor

SM 10 - 10 hp screw compressor

Kaeser's standard SM 10 hp screw compressor model, offers impressive performance and quiet operation. It features a robust design with super-silenced, vibration-dampening, and powder-coated panels, suitable for ambient temperatures up to +115 °F. The unit is equipped with an IE3 premium efficiency motor (IP 54) and an innovative dual-flow fan with separate airflow channels for efficient cooling of the motor, fluid/compressed air cooler, and control cabinet. Key fluid and airflow features include a 'Honeycomb' air intake filter, pneumatic inlet and venting valves, a triple-separation system in the cooling fluid separator tank, and comprehensive pressure and fluid management components.

10 HP Air Compressor with Integrated Dryer

SM 10T - 10 hp screw compressor with dryer

The SM 10T is a rotary screw compressor with integrated refrigerated dryer sized for the full flow of the compressor. The dryer is located in a separate cabinet so it is not exposed to preheated air or contaminants from the compressor package.

Energy-Saving Control:

The integrated refrigerated dryer in "T” units provides high efficiency performance thanks to its energy saving control. The dryer is active only when compressed air actually needs to be dried. This approach achieves the required compressed air quality with maximum efficiency.

Eco-Drain:

The integrated refrigerated dryer also features a zero loss Eco-Drain. The advanced level-controlled condensate drain eliminates the compressed air losses associated with solenoid valve control. This saves energy and considerably enhances the reliability of the compressed air supply.

Climate-Friendly Design:

In addition to energy-saving controls, our integrated dryers feature the new R-513A refrigerant with 56% lower global warming potential than common dryer refrigerants. Combined with our advanced heat exchanger design, we need only half the refrigerant — resulting in the most climate-friendly dryer possible.

10HP Rotary Screw Compressor with Variable Speed Drive

SFC 8T - 10 hp screw compressor with variable speed drive and dryer

The SFC 8 10-hp rotary screw compressors is the perfect solution for smaller compressed air systems with varying air demand to achieve significant energy savings while maintaining stable pressure. KAESER SFC units are up to 18% more efficient than the competition. The SFC 8T model has an integrated dryer. Learn more about Kaeser's SFC series of compressors with variable speed drive.

power consumption vs flow rate

A variable speed screw compressor should be the most frequently loaded unit in a properly designed system. Each is optimized to deliver significantly more air with lower kW than comparable compressors.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the actual pressure dew point achievable with the integrated refrigerated dryer on the SM 10T?

Kaeser's refrigerated dryers in the T series achieve a pressure dew point of approximately 37°F (3°C) under standard operating conditions, within the ISO 8573 Class 4 dew point range. This is adequate for the vast majority of industrial tool and pneumatic equipment applications, including spray painting, automation, and general manufacturing.

Is the AIRCENTER DUPLEX SX 5 a better choice than the SM 10 AIRCENTER for operations that need redundancy?

The AIRCENTER DUPLEX SX 5 pairs two 5 HP rotary screw compressors on a shared horizontal receiver, which gives it a meaningful operational advantage for shops that cannot tolerate downtime: if one unit requires service, the other continues running. The SM 10 AIRCENTER is a single-compressor system, so any maintenance or fault event takes the entire system offline. Both configurations deliver comparable total airflow (the DUPLEX produces up to 42 CFM at 125 psig, versus 45.1 CFM for the SM 10), but the DUPLEX's 63 dB(A) noise level is slightly quieter. Facilities where uptime continuity is a priority and air demand sits near or below 42 CFM should give the DUPLEX configuration serious consideration.

How Fino Valley Wines in New Zealand achieved uninterrupted compressed air reliability with KAESER

Fino-winery

Fino Valley Wines, one of the oldest wineries in Auckland, New Zealand, is successfully scaling production and achieving uninterrupted operational reliability, supported by the installation of a KAESER AIRTOWER 4C all-in-one compressed air system. Complete with filtration, the system provides the essential high air quality needed for the wineries new bottling line, enabling a dramatic increase in output while eliminating reliance on costly bottled nitrogen supply.

The Battle in your Pipes: Gravity vs Air Velocity in Condensate Management

gravity vs air velocity

Should you be worried about water building up before the separator and flowing back to damage the machine if the separator is located quite high up relative to the compressor? The answer lies less in a strict "maximum height" specification and more in understanding the physics of airflow. It is a constant tug-of-war inside your pipes between two opposing forces: Gravity and Towing Force.

How to Size Compressed Air Branch Lines

pipe ring

Finding the right balance in your compressed air piping system can feel like a game of inches—literally. A common question we receive from system designers is whether varying pipe diameters within a "pipe ring" or loop can actually improve performance. Specifically: Is it beneficial to make the outer lines of a ring larger than the cross-branches?
