The inlet air is trapped between the rotor and the casing (left rotor in fig. 1) and carried to the discharge port without being compressed. The rotors intermesh, but do not touch, and therefore need no lubrication. The heat generated by
compression dissipates with the flow medium. The proprietary casing channel equalizes the internal pressure to reduce pulsations and minimize noise.
