Operation

This heatless pressure swing desiccant dryer removes moisture and lowers the air pressure dew point using drying cycles. The two towers alternate between adsorbing and regenerating, and allow for continuous use.

Prefiltered air flows into the bottom of one of the drying towers (1). Moisture is removed from the air as it passes upward through the desiccant(2). The dried air is discharged from the top of the chamber (3) and passes through a check valve.  A portion of the dried air is used as purge air (4), diverted by a control valve to regenerate the saturated desiccant in the other chamber. Water vapor is removed through the exhaust muffler (5). Dried compressed air exits the dryer outlet (6) into a particulate filter.
