Punkin' Chunkin' Champions

For the second year in a row, Kaeser Compressors, Inc. proudly claims the Punkin’ Chunkin’ World Championship. Kaeser is the proud and sole sponsor of S&G Erectors and the Second Amendment Punkin’ Chunkin’ gun. Kaeser’s team participates in the unlimited World Champion category, and their record-setting shot this year travelled a total of 4,434.28’.

Of course, this is not as easy as it sounds. Compressed air is the power behind most guns in the top categories, but the real key to achieving distance is just the right balance between pressure and flow to propel the pumkin a long distance without causing it to splinter or “pie.” Kaeser’s engineering expertise in compressed air made them a natural partner and supplier for this popular competition.

This is Kaeser’s fourth year in the contest, and they just keep getting closer to the ultimate goal: shooting the pumpkin one full mile. The contest is held annually during the first weekend of November in Lewes, Delaware - attracting competitors and over 30,000 spectators from around the world. A variety of categories and age levels make this event an excellent venue for encouraging ingenuity, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
